An Evolving Historic Winery: Uncovering the Charm of Shirayuri Winery!

In early July, before the summer heat had truly set in, incredible news arrived!

At the world-renowned wine competition, the "Decanter World Wine Awards 2021," Yamanashi Prefecture's Shirayuri Winery's wine "Lorient Katsunuma Koshu 2019" won Platinum, receiving the highest score and top award in Japan.

Upon hearing that a Koshu wine representing Yamanashi Prefecture was honored at this globally prestigious competition, our reporting team immediately headed to Katsunuma to interview Shirayuri Winery.

Shirayuri Winery is one of the long-established wineries in Katsunuma-cho, Koshu City.
While many of you may already know it well, we spoke with Executive Director Uchida, who represents the next generation, about its appeal once again.

At Shirayuri Winery, they craft not only wine, but grappa as well!
In addition to Koshu, their lineup features high-quality red wines such as Muscat Bailey A.
We spoke in detail with the staff to learn more about these products.
