ABOUT

98wines Winery: a place that creates “the power of wine.”

Through encounters with people from every world who resonate with and are drawn to one another,

we believe an incomplete 98 can become 100—or 200.

Encounters that fit like pieces of a puzzle.

Just as we fell in love at first sight with the view spread below Fukusei,

98wines aims to be a place that becomes one puzzle piece for many different people.

FEATURE STORY

Fukusari: The Place Chosen by 98 WINEs

When 98 WINEs was first established, the plan was to start the winery in a different location.

Design work had already begun, but as if drawn there by something, the team arrived in Fukusari.

While passing through by chance, Mount Fuji suddenly came into view.

After gazing at Mount Fuji for a while, they noticed a weathered wooden building.

It was Fukusari’s former community hall, no longer in use.

This was once a place where local people gathered, set against the beauty of Mount Fuji.

“If only we could make wine in a place like this, how happy we would be.”

That strong feeling took shape, and 98 WINEs began its story here.

The Iron Building, Stone Building, and Wood Building

The 98 WINEs winery consists of three buildings used for winemaking.

[Iron Building]

Gravity-flow winemaking is used to minimize stress on the grapes and juice.

[Stone Building]

To create an environment suited to storage and preserve the local landscape, the exterior incorporates a restored Fukusari stone wall.

[Wood Building]

A space where people can gather and interact while purchasing and tasting wine.

The first floor is a place to enjoy wine.

On the second floor, guests can relax and enjoy wine without watching the clock.

Wine becomes even more enjoyable, joyful, and delicious when accompanied by food.
