A few months had passed since our previous coverage tour.
On an early spring day, just as the cherry blossoms were past their peak, the NIHON WINE.JP reporting team headed to Katsunuma-cho in Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

A beautiful landscape came into view, blending the lingering colors of cherry blossoms with peach blossoms.
Our destination this time was "Katsunuma Wine Village"!

CHAPTER 01

What is Katsunuma Wine Village?

Katsunuma Wine Village had its grand opening in July 2020.
However, because it opened in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still not widely known.

NIHON WINE.JP conducted an exclusive feature on this village, where eight wineries are currently gathered.
Despite their busy schedules with vineyard work and other tasks, we were able to speak with representatives from three wineries.
Please take a look!

CHAPTER 02

Toumu Winery

First, from President Arasawa of "Toumu Winery", a central presence in the village, we learned the story behind the creation of Katsunuma Wine Village, as well as insights about Toumu Winery itself.

Furthermore, at the shop where wines from all of the wineries are available for purchase, "CELEBRIDGE", who was also kind enough to give us a tour.

Please take a look at Mr. Arasawa's wonderful interview as he speaks at length about the charms of Katsunuma Wine Village!

Winery touring is fun, but as the saying goes, "you can't fight on an empty stomach"—and I was starting to get hungry.

That's when it's great to have the restaurant inside Katsunuma Wine Village, "Manukka

CHAPTER 05

Restaurant Manukka

Known as a "restaurant for Koshu local chicken and wine," this establishment serves creative Japanese cuisine that pairs perfectly with Japanese wine.
Here is a look at our dining experience there! The outdoor terrace offering a wonderful view is absolutely fantastic!

What did you think?

Due to schedule constraints, we were only able to interview three wineries this time, but next time we hope to speak with the other wineries as well.

Please be sure to pay a visit to Katsunuma Wine Village yourself!
