Our winery lies on the southern foot of Mt. Kayagatake in Yamanashi Prefecture, near the celebrated scenic area of Shosenkyo,
in a beautiful landscape of interwoven valleys and hills.
The property covers about 10 hectares, ranging from 550 to 640 meters elevation.
Good ventilation and drainage, large day-night temperature swings, long sunshine hours and relatively low rainfall create conditions well suited to grape growing.
Our greatest commitment is to use only grapes grown on our own estate. Since our founding, we have consistently believed that winemaking begins in the vineyard and have continued producing authentic Japanese wine. We do not blend imported wine or purchase grapes from contract growers. To deliver wines that are as natural, safe, and dependable as possible, we cultivate our grapes using methods that avoid herbicides and minimize pesticide use.
We cultivate 14 grape varieties, an unusually large number for a small winery and one of the widest selections among wineries in the prefecture. From these grapes we produce nearly 30 different labels. Production volumes are limited, but this diversity is possible because both cultivation and winemaking are carried out with hands-on care rather than relying heavily on machinery.
