As you climb the hill of Tomi no Oka winery, a beautiful landscape unfolds before you: the majestic sight of Mt. Fuji and the Kofu Basin stretching out before your eyes.

Because of this scenic beauty, it was called 'Tomi no Oka'—meaning 'a hill beautiful to climb'—which is the origin of the name Tomi no Oka winery.

For more than 100 years, grapes have been cultivated on this land. In the vast estate vineyards, from stubbornly building the soil and carefully nurturing each grape to hand-picking, vinifying, and bottling, an integrated winemaking process is carried out from start to finish.

'We want to bring out the unique character of the land that only Tomi no Oka possesses to the fullest.' The dedication and passion of the craftspeople continue to create wines found nowhere else.
