New Release of "CAVE D'OCCI BREWING", a New Craft Beer Brand Crafted by Cave d'Occi Winery!

There must be many craft beer lovers among Japanese wine fans as well.

A new product highly recommended for such craft beer enthusiasts has been released.

That is "CAVE D'OCCI BREWING," a new craft beer brand crafted by Cave d'Occi winery.

Let us take a closer look at the details.

About the Beers

"Cave d'Occi" is a winery located in Niigata.

In fact, beer brewing has also been taking place on its premises at the restaurant Makigoya since 2002.

And this year, a 27-year-old young winemaker who had been involved in Cave d'Occi's winemaking took on the challenge of crafting beers unique to a winery under the theme of "beers characteristic of a winery."

Through a craft beer rebranding, they have reportedly released the new brand "CAVE D'OCCI BREWING."

About the Newly Released Beers

The newly released beers feature a wine-like gorgeous aroma and lightness.

"Pale Ale" generously uses hops described as having aromas like Sauvignon Blanc, resulting in a brew with gorgeous aromas reminiscent of white grapes; with fruity flavors and a long finish, it is said to pair wonderfully with meals.

On the other hand, the summer-limited "Beach Flags" is crafted to be drier than regular beer, featuring aromas of lemon, pineapple, and white pepper, offering a dry and refreshing mouthfeel.

Craft Beer Is Fascinating Too

At "CAVE D'OCCI BREWING," they reportedly plan to further expand the lineup of both standard and seasonal limited-edition offerings going forward.

Moving forward, they plan to release more beers unique to a winery—such as utilizing grape pomace produced from winemaking or aging beer in French oak barrels previously used for wine aging—so be sure to keep an eye not only on their winemaking, but also on their beer brewing.
