Iwami Winery Co., Ltd. operates amid the expansive nature of Sanbe,
handling everything consistently from growing the grapes used for wine to vinification and sales.
As a new tourism hub for Sanbe, it hopes to offer people from around the world quality time and smiles through wine.
The winery's vineyard is located by a rest house within Sanbe National Park.
The winery leases a broad 4.7-hectare site from local farmers and is progressively planting five grape varieties essential to serious winemaking, including Merlot and Chardonnay.
The area's high elevation is well suited to producing high-quality grapes as safe, reliable raw material for wine.
The winery was completed in spring 2018.
Visitors can observe the production process without a reservation and watch activities such as wine bottling through glass windows.
The source for Iwami Winery Hotel's flowing natural hot spring is said to have been discovered by a fox. The Ushio Onsen spring, also known as “Tsuewasure-no-Yu” — the bath said to make you forget your walking stick — is rich in metasilicic acid and is also known as a hot spring associated with beautiful skin.
Inside the hotel, guests find a calm and generous space that feels as though they are spending time deep in the forests of Iwami.
Guest rooms are designed to provide a relaxing stay for everyone from groups to families.
