ABOUT

Founded in 1988 as the second winery of Chuo Budoshu Co., Ltd.,

it was renamed Hokkaido Chuo Budoshu Chitose Winery in 2011 and continues under that name today.

Using mainly grapes grown at Kimura Farm in Yoichi,

along with fruit nurtured by the northern land,

it makes rich, fruit-driven wines as well as sweet fruit wines made from haskap.

FEATURE STORY

Founded in 1988

In 1988, Chuo Budoshu Co., Ltd. of Koshu, Yamanashi established this facility as its second winery and began producing fruit wine from haskap, a Chitose specialty known as the “fruit of longevity.”

In 2011, the company was renamed Hokkaido Chuo Budoshu Co., Ltd. Chitose Winery, and it has continued working to build Hokkaido’s identity as a wine-producing region while pursuing winemaking rooted in the island.

High-Quality Grapes from Kimura Vineyard in Yoichi

Our flagship wines use high-quality Pinot Noir and Kerner grown by Kimura Vineyard, operated by Tadashi Kimura in Yoichi’s Nobori district, one of Japan’s leading pioneers in Pinot Noir cultivation.
