In the wine world, there is a concept called terroir:

a tendency to seek wines that reveal the distinctive character of a place

and even the personality of the winemaker.

Grapes grown in the sea breezes of the Sea of Japan are rich in mineral character,

and when made into wine can leave a suggestion of the sea in the finish.

In that sense, Okushiri Wine can truly be said to contain its terroir.
