On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Kyotamba will hold a winery dinner in collaboration with Tamba Wine.
The event is limited to guests staying at Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Kyotamba that night.
August Theme
Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Kyotamba has held the Tamba Wine Winery Dinner, designed to showcase the appeal of Kyotamba, since 2022.
It has become a popular event receiving favorable responses each time.
The August 2026 theme is “Savor Kyoto's Finest Ingredients: Pairing Course of Wachi Ayu from the Yura River and Kyo Duck.”
The special course centers on wild ayu raised in the clear Yura River and Kyo Duck®, a branded duck known for the fine savoriness of its fat, incorporating abundant blessings from Kyotamba's rivers and mountains that symbolize summer in the region.
A winery tour is also planned so guests can experience Tamba Wine more deeply.
In addition to learning about the winemaking process and the producer's approach, guests can enjoy a tasting in the barrel cellar, an area rarely open to visitors.
Pairing Wines
The special meal showcases Kyotamba ingredients including wild Wachi ayu and Kyo Duck®.
They will be paired with wines from Tamba Wine.
One example is Kyoto Tamba Sauvignon Blanc 2024.
A silver-medal winner at the International Wine Challenge 2026, the wine features fresh citrus and herbal aromas with youthful, lively acidity that complements the delicate savoriness and roasted character of ayu.
Alongside this bottle, Tamba Wine will select three additional wines for the dishes, for a total of four.
Guests can enjoy the harmony of each pairing and the depth of a marriage distinctive to Kyoto.
