On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Nakaizu Winery Château T.S will release “Izu Symphony Red 2022 Premium.”
It is a rare wine that won the Grand Gold Award at the Japan Wine Competition 2025.

About “Izu Symphony Red 2022 Premium”
The wine uses three red-wine grape varieties, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot proving especially difficult to cultivate.
After years of effort amid the effects of a warming climate, the growers color-coded individual vines according to cluster coloration at the long-awaited harvest, then separated darker and lighter clusters.
The fruit then underwent an even more rigorous selection process.
In the cellar, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot were vinified and blended to highlight the character of each variety.
Each variety and barrel was tasted, and only the best-performing barrels were selected.
After the wine was removed from barrel, sediment was separated, the lots were blended, lightly coarse-filtered and bottled, producing a standout Japanese wine.

Because Izu Symphony Red 2022 Premium undergoes light coarse filtration, it has a clear appearance.
The aroma is elegant, combining dried-fruit notes with deep, spicy aromas from oak.
The palate is soft, with a range of fruit flavors together with pleasant acidity and tannin.
Another distinctive feature is that Petit Verdot forms the core of the blend to create a full-bodied style.
As a blend, it remains engaging through the glass and pairs with a broad range of foods.
The Grand Gold Award at the Japan Wine Competition 2025 went to just one bottle among 860 entries, making this truly one of the competition’s top wines.
