Nakaizu Winery to Release Fourth “COLLEKARA” Series Wine, Chenin Blanc, on June 6

Nakaizu Winery Chateau T.S will release #4 in its “COLLEKARA” series of wines made under a new concept on Saturday, June 6.

This time, the winery has produced a single-variety wine from Chenin Blanc, a grape currently being trial-grown in its own vineyards in Izu.

About the “COLLEKARA” Series

The “COLLEKARA” series from Nakaizu Winery Chateau T.S features wines made from a variety of grapes cultivated through the curiosity and drive for improvement of its viticulture team, as well as wines vinified in diverse ways by winemakers seeking to draw out the appeal of Izu-grown grapes.

The newly released COLLEKARA #4 Chenin Blanc 2025 is made solely from Chenin Blanc grapes currently under trial cultivation in the winery’s Izu estate vineyards.

About the Wine

The new “#4 Chenin Blanc 2025” is characterized by notes of loquat, honey, sea breeze and lingering sunshine.

It has a pale straw color. Delicate aromas of white loquat and dried apricot appear first, followed by a gentle note of chamomile.

Because the grapes ripened well in the 2025 vintage, the acidity is calm. On the palate, the wine shows a rich honeyed texture and a smoky, flinty mineral quality.

The finish is long and lingering.
