Izu Retreat Atagawa Suikou by Onko Chishin has launched a guest-exclusive accommodation plan that includes a winery tour offering a close look at the craftsmanship of Nakaizu Winery Château T.S.
The plan combines a tour of Nakaizu Winery’s vineyard and winery with a pairing dinner at the hotel. It is available only for stays on Sunday, August 23 and Sunday, August 30, 2026.
How the Plan Came About

Nakaizu Winery is located in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
In addition to being a winery, it is a popular tourism and resort destination with restaurants, gourmet offerings, accommodation, glamping facilities and hot springs.
The quality of Nakaizu Winery’s wines has been recognized both in Japan and overseas. At the Japan Wine Competition 2025, one of Japan’s leading wine competitions, the winery’s European-variety red wine “Izu Symphony Red 2022 Premium” won the Grand Gold Award, the top prize among 860 entries.
Izu receives 2.6 to 2.7 times as much annual rainfall as renowned wine regions, and its warm, humid summers make grape growing challenging. The award reflects the winery’s long-standing efforts to work with these demanding local conditions.
Since opening, Izu Retreat Atagawa Suikou by Onko Chishin has served Nakaizu Winery wines at its restaurant “Shio to Sakazuki” as bottles that express the character of Izu. The hotel says the starting point for this project was its deep sympathy with both the flavors created by the winery and the dedication of its producers, who continue to face Izu’s climate sincerely despite conditions that are not naturally ideal for viticulture.
“We want more guests to discover these wines together with the thoughts and stories of the people who make them.”
That idea led to the creation of this plan.
Schedule for the Day

The guest-exclusive plan begins with a vineyard and winery tour, followed later by a Nakaizu Winery pairing dinner.

During the vineyard and winery tour, local staff introduce the ingenuity used to adapt to Izu’s environment, including the winery’s original grape guards designed to protect grapes from rain and curtain-style bird nets that help prevent serious bird damage.

For the Nakaizu Winery pairing dinner, the winery’s sommelier, Manabu Yoshida, will join guests as they enjoy a one-night-only dinner centered entirely on Nakaizu Winery wines, accompanied by the story behind each bottle.
Varieties that reflect Izu’s terroir, including Petit Verdot and Chardonnay, are paired with dishes that make use of the region’s bounty from both sea and mountains.
It is a premium pairing of wines expressing Izu’s terroir and cuisine created by Izu Retreat Atagawa Suikou by Onko Chishin.
For those looking to experience the appeal of Izu through food and wine, this special plan offers a distinctive opportunity.
