Naka-Izu Winery Hills is located in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

As for the wines, combining grapes from their own vineyards with those from contracted growers, their current production is around 70,000 bottles.
They produce a wide variety of wines, ranging from Bordeaux varieties such as Petit Verdot and Merlot to unique Japanese varieties like Yama Sauvignon and Shinano Riesling.
In recent years, their reputation has soared, with several items receiving gold medals at the recently announced Japan Wine Competition 2024.

We spoke with chief winemaker Tomoyasu Matsumoto about their viticultural ingenuity and winemaking methods tailored to the warm, rainy climate of Naka-Izu.
We were also able to hear about the passion and dedication of the viticulture team.
