Kikuka Wine, made exclusively from grapes grown in Kikuka Town, Yamaga City,
is one of Japan’s popular wine brands, with numerous awards from competitions both at home and abroad.
Welcome to Kikuka Winery, where you can also enjoy scenery surrounded by magnificent nature.
Approximately 1.5 hectares are planted with wine grapes including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.
It will still take time before these grapes can be harvested and enjoyed as wine, but making wine in a grape-growing region is also a way of cultivating a new local community through agriculture.
Restaurant Farm, attached to the winery, is built around the concept of “the food of Yamaga.” Its half-buffet format lets guests choose a main dish from local meats such as Ajisai beef, Asobi pork, and Higo Umaka red chicken, while enjoying a generous spread of salads made with vegetables from nearby farms, house-made deli dishes, desserts, and more.
The restaurant also offers a Farm-exclusive “fresh wine” served from a tap like draft beer, prized for the freshness possible only at a winery-run restaurant.
