Kobe Wine has always taken pride in, and remained passionate about, being “Made in KOBE.”
As the name suggests, Kobe Wine is made from grapes grown in Kobe.
Kobe enjoys a mild climate, long hours of sunshine, and abundant sunlight.
Since its first vintage in 1983, the winery has continued to make wine exclusively from wine grapes harvested in its own vineyards and from contracted growers within Kobe City.
Kobe City began grape cultivation as part of an agricultural development initiative.
Wine grapes were selected as the fruit crop based on three factors: the area's climate and soil conditions, the potential for large-scale labor-saving cultivation, and growing demand and marketability.
Today, grapes are grown on approximately 40 hectares in dedicated vineyards in Kobe's Nishi and Kita wards, as well as in vineyards at Kobe Winery itself.
The accumulated efforts over the years are now bearing fruit, including gold medals at wine competitions.
Kobe Wine lives together with the nature of Kobe.
Its vineyards overlook the foothills of Mount Rokko.
The vines are grown with natural grass cover, and both harvesting and grape selection are done entirely by hand.
The passion of the growers, the light and breezes of Kobe, and the strength of the land come together in genuinely Japanese wine.
