The Yoichi-Niki area of Hokkaido, where the winery is located, is blessed with favorable climate and soil conditions, and in recent years many vineyards and wineries have been established here. At Domaine ICHI, we cultivate wine grapes such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer, along with table grapes such as Niagara and Portland that have long been grown in the region, as well as hybrid varieties. All are grown on our own farm under organic JAS standards and environmentally friendly organic farming practices.
In 2011, before the winery relocated, the former winery became the first in Japan to receive organic wine certification. Domaine ICHI's new winery was certified as an organic winery in 2021. We will continue striving to make wine as naturally as possible from grapes grown with farming methods that are gentle on both people and the environment.
