Manns Wine Co., Ltd. has begun sales of “Solaris Chikumagawa Chardonnay Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Nature 2018.”
It is a new vintage of the company’s flagship sparkling wine made from Chardonnay grown in Komoro.
Here are the details.
About the wine
Manns Wine has been producing sparkling wine through secondary fermentation in bottle since the 1990s.
The company says it takes the time to carry out labor-intensive steps such as “allowing a long maturation period to build depth of flavor” and “disgorging just before release.”
Believing that Chardonnay from Komoro shows its purest expression without dosage, the wine has been finished as Brut Nature, with no added sugar.
Wine data
“Solaris Chikumagawa Chardonnay Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Nature 2018” is made exclusively from Chardonnay.
Produced only from white grapes, it is a Blanc de Blancs.
Its appearance is a calm hue with a beige tint.
Fine, persistent bubbles create an elegant impression.
Alongside aromas of yellow apple and white flowers are toasty notes reminiscent of brioche, almond, and pain de mie.
The attack is driven by sharp, lengthening acidity, while fine bubbles spread rhythmically across the palate. Notes of lemon peel and white peach emerge through the mid-palate, followed by a pleasantly lingering savoriness suggesting gentle bitterness and salinity.
With a mineral character, firm structure, and ample acidity, it is also a wine with promising long-term aging potential.
Why not enjoy one of Manns Wine’s finest bottles?
