Nakaizu Winery Château T.S is scheduled to release “Izu Symphony Red 2022 Premium” in September 2025.
The noteworthy wine won the Grand Gold Award, the highest honor at the Japan Wine Competition.
Here are the details.
About Izu Symphony Red 2022 Premium
“Izu Symphony Red 2022 Premium” is a special red wine made by Nakaizu Winery Château T.S.
It uses Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot harvested from the winery’s own vineyard at an elevation of 290 meters.
To select grapes with deeper color, vines are first color-coded; bunches are then sorted indoors under consistent lighting into darker and lighter groups, followed by further advanced sorting. The wine reflects exceptionally rigorous attention to grape selection.
This flagship wine of Nakaizu Winery blends wines selected barrel by barrel. The blend is said to offer complexity and harmony together with pleasant acidity and tannins.
Grand Gold Award winner
“Izu Symphony Red 2022 Premium,” scheduled for release in September 2025, won the Grand Gold Award in the red European-variety category at the Japan Wine Competition 2025, whose judging was held in Yamanashi Prefecture in July 2025.
The Grand Gold Award was established in 2024 to commemorate the competition’s 20th edition. Only one wine among the 860 entries this year received the award, making it an honor reserved for a true top-of-the-top wine.
It is one of Japan’s leading red wines made from European grape varieties today.
The wine is priced at 7,800 yen before tax.
