About the “Tamba Wine Winery Dinner”
The “Tamba Wine Winery Dinner” is a program by the Fairfield by Marriott Michi-no-Eki Project, which operates 29 lodging-focused hotels across Japan and proposes a style of travel in which guests use the hotels as bases to discover lesser-known regional attractions.
Under the theme “Quest for the Unknown Japan,” the project aims to help guests discover distinctive local experiences and hidden attractions across the country. The Tamba Wine Winery Dinner, designed to showcase the appeal of Kyotamba in Kyoto Prefecture, has been popular since it began in 2022.
Program
This edition is the fourth “Ultimate Local Production for Local Consumption Dinner,” titled “A Locally Sourced Venison Dinner with Norimasa Kakiuchi, Japan’s First Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries-Certified Game Hunter — Including a Deer Thigh Butchering Demonstration.”
The event will feature a talk and butchering demonstration by game hunter Norimasa Kakiuchi, representative of the “Kakiuchi Venison” brand, known for venison without the characteristic gamey odor and with a juicy, smooth texture.
The game dinner will be paired with wines carefully selected by Tamba Wine, including Kyoto Tamba Pinot Noir 2021.
