Château
Aoki Village in Chiisagata District, Nagano Prefecture, preserves a beautiful landscape surrounded by mountains.
One of the peaks affectionately known as the “Three Mountains of Aoki” is Mt. Komayumi, long revered as a sacred mountain at the center of mountain worship and still honored as a deity of agriculture and water.
When this region was one of the world's leading producers of silkworm eggs, natural wind caves in the mountain were used to protect and nurture them. As time passed, former mulberry fields became the “Iris Flower Village,” named for Aoki Village's flower, and later were transformed into vineyards. The mountain itself has remained unchanged, and today it quietly shelters and nurtures the grapes at its foot.
