About the 8th Chefs Bar in Yatsugatake 2025

The 8th Chefs Bar in Yatsugatake 2025 brings together chefs from popular restaurants around Hokuto City to showcase the appeal of winter in Yatsugatake through food, serving dishes made with seasonal local ingredients.

This year’s lineup includes Chef Shinsaku Suzuki, a winner in “Destination Restaurants 2023,” a list of Japanese restaurants selected by Japanese people for people around the world, as well as Chef Sano, known as the “Prince of Game Meat,” and Chef Yamashita, known as the “Magician of Spices,” among other chefs active in Yamanashi Prefecture.

A strong lineup of drinks too!

Hokuto City is surrounded by mountains including Mt. Kaikomagatake in the Southern Alps UNESCO Eco Park, Yatsugatake, Mt. Kinpu and Mt. Mizugaki, creating a pristine water environment. The area is dotted with producers of wine, sake, shochu, whisky and craft beer that make use of this renowned water.

Scheduled exhibitors at Chefs Bar include “Yatsugatake Beer Touchdown Kiyosato Lager,” which won a world-best award at the World Beer Awards 2023, and the internationally noted sake “Shichiken,” which is planning a world tour with Alain Ducasse, as well as a booth serving Japanese wine.

Other plans include performances by jazz artists based in Hokuto City and free soup for children.
