VIRTUS is a wine shop in Jingumae and Jiyugaoka beloved by Japanese wine fans.
On September 10, 2024, a new store fusing this shop with Kyoto's SUBA, named "VS", will open in Shibuya.

About "VS"
"VS" is a new store that merges VIRTUS, the wine shop with locations in Jingumae and Jiyugaoka, and SUBA, the standing soba shop from Kyoto.
Located a 3-minute walk from Shibuya Station, the 1st floor operates as "SUBA VS", serving soba in a standing format, while the 2nd floor operates as "VIRTUS VS", where guests can enjoy a wine shop & wine bar.
The space was designed by Yusuke Seki, who also worked on suba KYOTO.
About the 1st and 2nd Floors
At "SUBA VS" on the 1st floor, guests can enjoy original soba noodles freshly made every day using soba flour carefully selected as the best in season from across the country, served in a Kansai-style dashi soup stock brewed with premium ingredients such as Rishiri kelp, skipjack tuna, mackerel, and round herring.
Kyoto's SUBA is known for offering innovative menus that reinterpret familiar dishes and ingredients through soba, and at the Shibuya location, it will serve sobamae appetizers and dashi-wari using VIRTUS wine, alongside soba.
You can also enjoy wines from the 2nd floor in a kakuuchi (bottle shop tasting) style.
On the 2nd floor, "VIRTUS VS" features a lineup of over 1,000 types of natural wines and Japanese wine in its cellar.
The wine dispensers always offer over 48 varieties, allowing for tastings by the glass.
Guests can enjoy flights for comparison as a bar, or use the dispensers to evaluate wines before purchasing bottles.
Furthermore, exclusively at the Shibuya shop, wine will be sold by measure starting from small quantities. (Purchase of a dedicated bottle required separately)
In addition, as an ＜Opening Commemorative Gift＞, customers who purchase 25,000 yen or more in wine will receive one complimentary bottle of "Mikaeri Blonde Girl," brewed exclusively by GRAPE REPUBLIC in Yamagata.
This is a must-visit spot for both wine and soba lovers.
