"VOYAGE" is a submarine-aged wine matured for half a year on the seabed of Nishi-Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture.
For approximately six months from December to late June, it is submerged at a depth of about 15 meters on the seabed where ultraviolet rays cannot reach, and aged in seawater at a consistent temperature of roughly 15 to 19 degrees Celsius throughout the half year.
Micro-vibrations advance the maturation process compared to storage in normal environments, resulting in a mellow, rich flavor as if it had been aged for a long time.
With multiple wines available from France, Italy, and Chile, you can also enjoy comparing the differences in taste.
Characteristics of "VOYAGE"
To prevent seawater infiltration, waterproof caps are applied by hand bottle by bottle to "VOYAGE" wines, which are then manually submerged onto the seabed by divers in Nishi-Izu.
By placing the waterproofed wine bottles without overlapping so that each individual bottle comes into contact with seawater, numerous marine organisms attach to them.
