"Taste of Hokkaido UNWIND Otaru Wine & Cuisine" is a project held regularly by UNWIND HOTEL&BAR Otaru.
The area around Otaru City is gaining increasing attention as a wine-producing region with unique and captivating appeal.
Refocusing on that regional character, this event is planned and hosted by the hotel to invite wine professionals and enjoy wine and food pairings at "The Ball Otaru," a magical hotel restaurant renovated from a historic building.
About This Edition
For the first edition of the new year, returning to the event's core concept of "falling in love with Hokkaido wine," Sayuri Arai, one of the leading experts in Hokkaido's wine scene, has been invited as a guest.
Having relocated to Hokkaido out of her passion for Hokkaido wine, Ms. Arai has built strong bonds of trust through interactions with winemakers across Hokkaido, and she will share unique, wonderful anecdotes about Hokkaido wine that only she can tell.
Ms. Arai selected the wine list for this event, focusing mainly on wines associated with the Otaru area.
Wines from the Otaru winery "OSA WINERY" and wines made from high-quality grapes grown in Yoichi will be served.
Furthermore, the course dinner at the hotel restaurant "The Ball Otaru" will present a French x Nouvelle Chinoise (Chinese) fusion based on the concept of "Challenge," expressing the refreshing spirit of the New Year.
