When drinking wine, one concern on many people's minds is sulfites.
Sulfites are antioxidants used to stabilize wine quality and are basically present in most wines.
On the other hand, some believe that sulfites alter the wine's original aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel, and there still seems to be strong demand from those who want to enjoy wine without sulfites.
However, whether or not to use sulfites and in what quantities is up to the producer, making it impossible for the drinker to control.
Under such circumstances, a single-glass wine filter equipped with sulfite-removal technology has been released ahead of the market in Japan.
That product is "UNO WINE WANDS," a single-glass wine filter from the US company Ullo.
We tested out the capabilities of this wine filter, which boasts cumulative sales of over 30 million units worldwide and more than 200,000 loyal users.
Equipped with Sulfite-Removal Technology! An Amazing Wine Filter

"UNO WINE WANDS" is a single-glass filter developed by the US company Ullo.
According to the distributor, Life Expert Co., Ltd., it is a more convenient "single-glass" product equipped with the same sulfite-removal technology as Ullo's full-bottle wine filter "Wine Purifier," which previously raised 8.62 million yen on Makuake.
With an adorable look reminiscent of a musical note, "UNO WINE WANDS" complies with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) standards, is BPA-free, made from renewable plant-based materials, and manufactured in a US factory with strict quality control, ensuring complete safety.

It is also easy to use:
- Place in the glass (Pour 120–180 ml of wine and place the wand in the glass)
- Swirl gently for 2 minutes (Slowly swirl the wand in the glass)
- Enjoy directly (Remove the wand and savor the wine's appeal)
It is done in just these three steps.
Incidentally, when arbitrarily tested on four commercially available white wines and four red wines, test results showed that sulfites were reduced by up to about 80%, while components such as anthocyanins and tannins were reduced by only a few percent.

Furthermore, when tasting 13 types of wine treated with "UNO WINE WANDS," results showed that bitterness and off-flavors softened, the alcoholic bite became gentler, fruit flavors became clearer, and pairing with food became easier—giving the impression that "the wine's original appeal was brought out naturally."
All you do is stir the filter inside the wine glass for two minutes.
It is an astounding product that brings out the true appeal of wine with just this.
Trying Out "UNO WINE WANDS"

A wine filter that brings out the true appeal of wine just by stirring for two minutes.
Many people might think, "No way... that's unbelievable."
So this time, we put "UNO WINE WANDS" to the test using actual red and white wines.
The wines prepared were Chilean wines priced around 1,000 yen, easily purchased at supermarkets.
Checking the ingredients on the back label confirmed that they definitely contain sulfites.
Stylish Appearance Is a Big Plus!

First, we unboxed the "UNO WINE WANDS."
They come in individual pouches with a stylish design.
The filter has a gentle touch and a stable thickness, allowing you to stir the wine with peace of mind.
Its size makes it suitable not only for drinking wine at home, but also for a wide range of situations such as outdoors, at restaurants, or while traveling, and its appealing design is enough to lift your spirits just by using it.
The Mellow Smoothness Completely Changes!

First, we used "UNO WINE WANDS" on the red wine.
The grape variety was Merlot; when tasted without the filter, it had aromas of berries and cassis, a voluminous mouthfeel, and noticeable tannins—a typical profile for a Chilean red wine.
Now, we used "UNO WINE WANDS" in this wine for two minutes.
Honestly, we were surprised.
While there was no particularly major change in the aroma, the mellow mouthfeel and fruitiness took on a noticeably rounder character, resulting in a juicy flavor.
Furthermore, because the tannins settled down considerably, the prickly edge of the wine disappeared.
Comparing it side-by-side with the wine without "UNO WINE WANDS," the difference was clear.
Curiously, the acidity and tannins in the unfiltered glass felt a bit harsh, to the extent that one would judge it as tasting "not quite ready to drink yet."

Now, how about the white wine?
This one is a somewhat tropical-style Chardonnay.
While offering citrus notes, it also features juicy fruit aromas like pineapple, a substantial mouthfeel, and acidity that tightens the finish—a bottle you would love to enjoy during lunch on a day off.
With that, we used "UNO WINE WANDS."
Stirring for two minutes in the same way transformed the citrus and tropical notes into a fresher impression.
The acidity and alcohol also softened, resulting in a distinctly richer finish.
While the white wine without "UNO WINE WANDS" is also tasty, in comparison it left the impression of lacking a certain clarity.
We never imagined that merely using or not using "UNO WINE WANDS" could make such a difference in the wine's flavor.
For wine lovers who want to enjoy wine more deliciously at home, "UNO WINE WANDS" is an indispensable item.
One Accessory Brightens Your Wine Life!
Wine is an artistic beverage complete in and of itself.
However, whether its potential is expressed to the fullest depends heavily on the wine's condition and how it is served.
"UNO WINE WANDS" is a magical tool that reliably brings out that latent potential in wine.
Be sure to take this opportunity to experience what "UNO WINE WANDS" can do.
