In Tsuno Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, the "Tsuno Mariage" Project has been launched to promote local food and wine made 100% from locally grown grapes.
Let's take a closer look at the details.
About the "Tsuno Mariage" Project
The "Tsuno Mariage" Project was launched jointly by Tsuno Machiokoshiya Co., Ltd., Tsuno Wine Co., Ltd., and the Tsuno Future Town Development Promotion Organization in collaboration with Regional Revitalization Entrepreneurs from Gurunavi, Inc.
Its aim is to showcase local cuisine and wine.
This time, the core book of the project, "Tsuno Mariage: Wine Side Dishes That Delight Everyone," will be released on Saturday, November 23.
It is a book created over the course of 2 years, featuring original recipes developed with Michiko Ohashi.
Book Overview
The upcoming book is a collection of 52 original recipes to be enjoyed throughout the four seasons, created in collaboration between "wine snack researcher" Michiko Ohashi and Tsuno Town in Miyazaki Prefecture, known as the "Capital of Agriculture."
Taking the fundamental theme of the natural harmony between wine and ingredients cultivated in the same terroir, each and every dish—1 dish by 1 dish—tackles the challenge of how to pair wine with seasonal ingredients unique to Japan's four seasons.
The recipes in this book not only pair exquisitely with wine, but are also designed as "everyday side dishes" that "everyone" will want to eat every day, including those who start their first drink with beer, children who cannot drink alcohol yet, or non-drinkers.
Using simple ingredients, it achieves pairings that will impress even seasoned wine lovers, while also serving as ideal everyday side dishes that go well with rice—making this 1 book that brings readers and wine closer together.
In addition, advance sales of the book along with ingredients featured in it will be held at the venue of the Tsuno Wine Harvest Festival 2024 on Sunday, November 10.
Following the release date, a dedicated book section will be set up at Michi-no-Eki Tsuno to introduce and sell Tsuno Wine and local ingredients, alongside ongoing efforts to create products and landscapes that convey the town's wine culture.
