Two new products, "Ginger Wine" and "Ginger Sparkling Wine," will be released on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

The ginger-infused wine is a product developed by Eihou Foods Co., Ltd., a company engaged in the production, processing, and sales of ginger.
To sell ginger at supermarkets and retail stores nationwide, it is necessary to trim ginger pieces to sizes that meet sales standards. Skilled factory staff trim them manually every day to optimal sizes; however, this trimming process produces off-spec shapes and cut-off scraps, amounting to approximately 200 to 300 tons annually.
Hoping to create new value from discarded ginger and reduce food waste, the company undertook the planning, production, and sales of "Ginger Wine" utilizing this discarded ginger.
About the Content
The ginger-infused wines being newly released this time come in two varieties: "Ginger Wine" and "Ginger Sparkling Wine."
Based on white wine from Shirayuri Winery in Yamanashi Prefecture, this unique wine is combined with distilled spirits made from the company's Kagoshima-grown "Kogane Shoga" (golden ginger).
It is characterized by a distinctive, never-before-tasted touch of piquancy, yet offers an easy-drinking flavor that pairs well with any dish.
With an alcohol content of 20%, "Ginger Wine" can be enjoyed in a variety of versatile styles.
Meanwhile, "Ginger Sparkling Wine" has an alcohol content of 8%, making it refreshing and easy to enjoy.
