Hotel Shinko is a popular hotel where guests can fully enjoy Yamanashi wine.
On Saturday, February 5 and Saturday, February 19, 2022, the second installment of "Casual Wine Gathering at a Hot Spring Inn" will be held.
This wine gathering reportedly offers an all-you-can-drink lineup that includes limited-quantity premium wines.
Here are the details.
All-You-Can-Drink of 15 Varieties of Wine, Including Premium Wines!
The appeal of "Casual Wine Gathering at a Hot Spring Inn" is that guests can participate for an additional 2,480 yen added to the room charge.
This time, the fee also covers an all-you-can-drink service featuring 15 varieties of Yamanashi wine during dinner, including premium wines.
Incidentally, the premium wines feature a lineup of 5 labels that Hombo Shuzo and Mars Yamanashi Winery proudly recommend.
Here are some of them.
Hinojo Chardonnay (White)
Paying close attention not only to sugar content but also to aromatic compounds, this wine uses Chardonnay harvested from early to mid-September, when the grapes are considered optimally ripe. After barrel fermentation, sur lie aging for 7 months allows umami components like amino acids from the lees to dissolve into the wine, adding aroma and richness. A bottle that lets you enjoy smooth fruit flavors alongside a robust oak aroma.
Hinojo Merlot (Red)
The Hosaka district, where Mars Yamanashi Winery's estate vineyard "Hosaka Hinojo Farm" is located, is one of Yamanashi's premier growing regions for wine grapes. Due to the relationship between weather conditions and soil, highly concentrated grapes are harvested here. This bottle is crafted from Merlot harvested at this estate vineyard, aged in barrels for 18 months. Its charm lies in its deep ruby color and smooth, fruit-forward mouthfeel.
These wines are limited labels handled by only 7 authorized dealers within Yamanashi Prefecture.
Why not take this opportunity to enjoy these rare wines?
Seminar by a Winemaker from "Mars Yamanashi Winery"
Just like the first event, the second installment of "Casual Wine Gathering at a Hot Spring Inn" will feature Hiroki Shimura, a winemaker from "Mars Yamanashi Winery."
You can learn about characteristics and appeals that will make Yamanashi wine feel even more accessible.
Additionally, the seminar reportedly includes a tasting comparison of three types of red wine made from Muscat Bailey A, which ranks first domestically in red wine grape production.
It is sure to feature a wealth of topics that only attendees can discover, from the basics of Yamanashi wine to knowledge practical for everyday dining.
Casually and Pleasantly Learn About Yamanashi Wine!
According to the hotel, participants in the previous "Casual Wine Gathering at a Hot Spring Inn" shared comments such as, "I learned about the dedication behind winemaking, and it was very educational," "It changed my image of domestic wine," and "Having a list of wines that pair with meals was extremely helpful."
This is a chance to enjoy precious Yamanashi wines at a reasonable price.
