On Tuesday, April 23, Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd. will celebrate the grand opening of "Otaru Wine Gallery" as a communication hub for "Wine-producing region Hokkaido."
On the day of the grand opening, a special event will also be held to experience the charm and depth of sparkling wine produced in Hokkaido.

About "Otaru Wine Gallery"
"Otaru Wine Gallery" is a facility attached to the winery that Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd. is opening as part of its transition toward an experiential winery where visitors can experience Hokkaido's winemaking and present day, serving as a base to actively promote "Wine-producing region Hokkaido" both domestically and internationally.
As a special event on the grand opening day of Tuesday, April 23, the "Technical Course" winery tour will be held, offering insights into Hokkaido sparkling wine brewed using the traditional method of secondary fermentation in the bottle.
The theme is Hokkaido sparkling wine produced via secondary fermentation in the bottle, and the guide will be Mr. Yuki Kasai, the chief winemaker of Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd.
Special Experiences Unique to This Event
Here is a summary of the special experiences offered on the "Technical Course" winery tour:
1. Participants will experience disgorgement (degorgement) and corking of secondary bottle-fermented sparkling wine, which cannot usually be experienced!
2. Comparative tasting between the sparkling wine with no dosage (added sugar) that you actually worked on and an aged secondary bottle-fermented sparkling wine.
3. A wine tasting featuring special wines not usually served by the glass, including "Noble Rot Kerner 2019" (noble rot wine, Gold Award and Best in Category at the 2023 Japan Wine Competition / Japanese wine Competition), among others!
The venue for the special event is the Hokkaido Wine Main Winery, and the fee is 8,800 yen (tax included).
