About the Winemaker's Dinner
Since 1995, Keio Plaza Hotel has enjoyed a long-standing friendship with the town of Takahata, located in southern Yamagata Prefecture, hosting initiatives such as dessert fairs featuring its specialty La France pears.
Takahata Winery is a popular winery in Takahata Town that strives to create wines of world-class quality, with the goal of becoming a "premium winery" alongside the world's renowned wine regions, even if it takes 100 years.
For this occasion, Junichi Matsuda, head winemaker of Takahata Winery, has been invited.
The program is designed to allow guests to fully explore the appeal of Takahata wines.
About the Menu and Pairings
At this event, Masayuki Tozawa, head chef of French & Italian ＜Duo Fourchettes＞, will present a French tasting menu (menu dégustation) featuring ingredients from Yamagata Prefecture, such as Yamagata beef and cherry salmon, inspired by the wines of Takahata Winery, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of small plates.
Along with Takahata Winery's signature Chardonnay and gold medal-winning wines from numerous competitions including the International Wine Challenge 2024, special treasure wines exclusively prepared by Takahata Winery for this day will also be served.
This is a one-day-only special event where you can savor the pairing of French cuisine and wine alongside talk from Takahata Winery's head winemaker.
