Starting June 25, "N.Y.V. Yoichi Pinot Noir Sparkling 2021" will be released in limited quantities in Hokkaido.
This wine is a Japanese wine made with 100% grapes from Asahi Breweries, Ltd.'s own vineyard in Yoichi Town, Hokkaido.
Here are the details.
About Asahi Breweries' Own Vineyard
In 2017, Asahi Breweries acquired 6 hectares of agricultural land for wine grapes in Umekawa-cho, Yoichi Town, Yoichi District, Hokkaido, through the agricultural production corporation Nikka Yoichi Vineyard Co., Ltd.
The company then began cultivating grapes for Japanese wine.
Currently, European grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Kerner, and Chardonnay are being cultivated.
Winemaking trials began at NIKI Hills Village Co., Ltd., a general agricultural corporation with which a comprehensive business partnership concerning winemaking and grape growing was concluded in 2018, leading to the release of "N.Y.V. Yoichi Kerner 2022" in 2023.
About "N.Y.V. Yoichi Pinot Noir Sparkling 2021"
"N.Y.V. Yoichi Pinot Noir Sparkling 2021" is a white sparkling wine characterized by delicate, fine effervescence produced through traditional in-bottle secondary fermentation, along with layered aromas that blend red fruits such as plum and citrus notes like lemon with toasty accents.
It is a bottle offering a rich, substantial palate supported by soft acidity and pleasant bitterness.
The product name "N.Y.V." is an acronym derived from the product concept: "Unprecedented wine potential, from Yoichi = Next Yoichi Value."
The release is limited exclusively to Hokkaido, priced at 7,000 yen (excluding tax).
The sales volume is limited to just 2,100 bottles.
