Numéro Neuf Co., Ltd. has begun limited-quantity preorders on the crowdfunding platform Makuake for “Numéro Dix,” the second wine in its original series.
It is described as a luxurious sparkling wine made from Japanese grapes, designed to brighten the time of apéro, or pre-dinner drinks.
Here are the details.
About “Numéro Dix”
Numéro Dix was developed by Mr. Sakihama, representative of Numéro Neuf Co., Ltd., who spent many years living in France and wanted to propose the wonderful custom of apéro to people leading busy everyday lives.
The special sparkling wine uses luxurious ingredients: premium Nagano Purple red grapes combined with Delaware from Yamagata and Sunny Rouge from Iwate.
What’s Inside
Numéro Dix can certainly be enjoyed on its own, but its true character is said to emerge when paired with food.
Because it was designed specifically for the aperitif — the time spent enjoying drinks before a meal — it pairs especially well with light foods such as cheese, crackers, cured meats, fruit and vegetables.
For example, the saltiness of smoked ham helps bring the wine’s balance into even sharper focus.
Fruit pairings are also recommended: tart-sweet berries or juicy melon allow the wine’s refreshing flavors to spread across the palate.
