On Saturday, January 20, 2023, a seminar exploring the appeal of Muscat Bailey A will be held at Niigata Monolith.
On the day of the event, five types of wine and a pairing plate highlighting Niigata ingredients that go well with the wine will reportedly be prepared.

About the Seminar
The Muscat Bailey A seminar is organized by the OIV Registered Varieties Council.
Among Japanese wine, the grape variety Muscat Bailey A, which is the most widely produced in Japan and widely enjoyed as wine, originated in Niigata.
Marking the milestone of approximately 10 years since its variety registration with the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine) in 2013, a seminar dedicated to Muscat Bailey A will be held in Niigata for the first time.
Seminar Details
At this seminar, a talk session by winemakers who craft Muscat Bailey A wines will be held.
In addition, a tasting seminar led by leading sommeliers representing Japan is scheduled to take place.
Along with five wines produced by the winemakers, an appetizer plate generously featuring ingredients from Niigata will also reportedly be prepared.
