"Nasu 661 WINE HILLS" Evolves into a "New Style Beyond a Winery" in Autumn 2026!

"Nasu 661 WINE HILLS" will launch a "new style beyond a winery" centered around the satoyama countryside stretching at the foot of the Nasu Imperial Villa.

By cultivating and brewing not only grapes but a diverse variety of fruits on its own farm, it will present itself as a destination where visitors can enjoy orchards, a winery, satoyama nature walks, and dining all on a single hill.

A New Vision for a Winery Not Limited to Grapes

"Nasu 661 WINE HILLS" is a winery operated by Agricultural Production Corporation Royal Berries Farm Co., Ltd.

In autumn 2026, marking its 100th anniversary since foundation, it will launch a "new style beyond a winery" centered around fruit wines—starting with blueberries—and the satoyama countryside stretching at the foot of the Nasu Imperial Villa.

Generally, when people think of a "winery," they imagine a place where wine is made from grapes in vineyards; however, Nasu 661 WINE HILLS grows a wide variety of fruits on its own farm—focusing on blueberries, along with grapes, juneberries, blackberries, mulberries, Japanese plums (ume), and more—brewing them into fruit wines at the on-site facility.

The company positions this approach—unbound by fruit varieties or the mere production of alcohol—as a new style beyond a winery that remains rare within Japan.

Three Long-Term Wooden Barrel-Aged Labels for the 100th Anniversary

Additionally, the company is rolling out three long-term wooden barrel-aged labels.

Three varieties will be offered: Shinza Long-Term Wooden Barrel-Aged 100th Anniversary Commemorative Bottle, Iwaza Long-Term Wooden Barrel-Aged, and Umeza Long-Term Wooden Barrel-Aged.
