This tie-up marks the 16th edition of the project.
Here are the details.
About the Original Wine
This project was launched in 2008 with the aim of promoting the charms of Shiga Prefecture through community engagement by seven hotels located in Shiga Prefecture and at the foot of Mt. Hiei.
In this project, Biwako Hotel, Kusatsu Estopia Hotel, Hikone Castle Resort & Spa, Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel, Hotel New Omi, Hotel Boston Plaza Kusatsu, and L'Hôtel de Hiei collaborate with Ohta Shuzo Co., Ltd. Ritto Winery, where hotel sommeliers craft original blends of wine made from grapes grown in Shiga Prefecture.
About "2023 Asagarano Minori"
"2023 Asagarano Minori" is an original wine blended by sommeliers from the seven hotels, available as both a red wine and a white wine.
The red wine is blended at a ratio of 96% oak-aged base wine made from 2023 Yama Sauvignon, 2% Yama Sauvignon and Almonoir, and 2% oak-aged Muscat Bailey A.
The white wine was also crafted by blending 30% Sémillon (young vines) from the 2023 vintage, 20% Sémillon (old vines), 20% Chardonnay, and 30% Red Millennium.
Limited to 600 bottles of red wine and 800 bottles of white wine, they will be sold at each hotel.
