Silver Medal Won at "Chardonnay Du Mond 2022"!

"Chardonnay Du Mond 2022" is a wine competition held every year in the Burgundy region of France since 1993, with this year marking its 29th edition.

It is a unique competition dedicated to the Chardonnay variety that honors the world's best Chardonnay wines, and it is truly significant that a Japanese wine won an award in Burgundy, the home of Chardonnay wine.

This time, 546 wines from 32 countries around the world were entered, and judging was conducted by 200 international experts.

This is reportedly the second time they have received an award, following "Kikuka Chardonnay Barrel Aged 2017" in 2020.

About Kikuka Chardonnay

Kikuka Chardonnay is the flagship wine that the winery has continued to refine through trial and error together with the "Kikuka Town Grape Production Promotion Association" since its founding.

For the grapes, 100% Chardonnay from Kikuka Town, which enjoys over 2,000 hours of annual sunshine, is used, and the winemaking style involves fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

Afterward, it is blended with wine that has been transferred to barrels and aged slowly, finishing it into a well-structured wine.

Because it is a multi-vintage blend, it is N.V. (non-vintage), but it is crafted with the accent of French oak in mind while adjusting the blending ratio depending on the harvest and the condition of the wine.

Taut acidity, pleasant bitter nuances, and fruitiness harmonize to create a dry white wine that can be enjoyed across any lot.

High Hopes for Japanese Chardonnay Moving Forward!

Chardonnay is an international variety that any wine producer finds attractive.

It is deeply meaningful that a Japanese wine won a Silver Medal in a competition held in Burgundy, the homeland of such Chardonnay.
