Karuizawa Winery Co., Ltd., a group company of Oval Corporation, is preparing to open the first phase of its new winery in the Hotchi area of Karuizawa, Nagano in early August 2026.
The first phase will unveil art architecture supervised by Kengo Kuma, together with a retail and wine-stand area offering paid tastings and limited wines.
Karuizawa Winery Phase 1 Opening
Karuizawa Winery Co., Ltd. is a group company of Oval Corporation.
The new facility will begin its first phase of operations in the Hotchi area of Karuizawa, Nagano.
The first phase is titled “PRELUDIO — Prelude.”
Visitors will be able to experience the Kengo Kuma-supervised architecture, enjoy paid tastings, and purchase limited wines at the retail and wine-stand area.
Future Development
Karuizawa Winery is surrounded by abundant trees and nature, with Mt. Asama directly ahead, in a quiet setting designed to stimulate the senses.
The winery plans to offer special moments combining wine and art.
The facility will open in stages.
Phase 2 is scheduled for September 2026, when the winemaking facility will begin operations and winery tours are expected to start.
