Turning Nagano Apples into "Apple Brandy"! Kamoshika Cidre Cidery Launches a Project on "CAMPFIRE"!

Located in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture, Kamoshika Cidre Cidery.

It is a famous cidery with a track record of winning awards at international competitions for five consecutive years.

Recently, the cidery launched a project on the crowdfunding platform "CAMPFIRE" to turn Nagano apples into "Apple Brandy".

They are seeking supporters for this new venture.

About "Kamoshika Cidre"

Nagano Prefecture is a place garnering attention not only for Japanese wine, but also as a cider-producing region in Japan.

Kamoshika Cidre Cidery began production in October 2016 and is a cidery located in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture, operated by a total of five people.

Starting with "cider" and "apple sparkling wine," they also produce fruit wines made from strawberries and pears.

It is also a domaine-style cidery that does not just purchase ingredients from local farmers, but also grows about 700 apple trees on its own orchard of approximately 1 ha, handling everything from cultivation to processing and sales in an integrated manner.

Since beginning production in 2016, it has won awards for five consecutive years from 2017 to 2021 at the "Fuji Cider Challenge," the largest international competition in Asia.

It is now attracting significant attention as a leading cidery representing Japan.

About the Production of Apple Brandy

The project that the cidery launched on "CAMPFIRE" this time is the production of apple brandy.

Although they imported a pot still from France the year before last, immediately afterward, due to the effects of the coronavirus, the technician to assemble the still could not enter Japan from overseas, and there is reportedly still no clear outlook at present.

Apple brandy is a spirit that requires a very long maturation period (5 to 10 years) before completion, and the longer the start of production is delayed, the further away its completion date becomes.

Therefore, they launched this crowdfunding campaign to complete the still in Japan and deliver the "finest apple brandy" as soon as possible.

In this project, "ciders" currently produced by Kamoshika Cidre are offered as return items.
