Sales have begun with a limited run of 800 bottles.
Here are the details.
About "KAHOKU BLUE"
"KAHOKU BLUE" is a sparkling wine that makes use of "Takamatsu Grapes" that were previously discarded during cluster thinning.
It is a product developed primarily by "PFU BlueCats Ishikawa Kahoku", a team aiming to become a community-based professional volleyball club.
With the cooperation of Kahoku City, the Ishikawa Kahoku Agricultural Cooperative (JA Ishikawa Kahoku), and the Takamatsu Grape Growers Association, it is being released in a limited quantity of 800 bottles.
A Traditional-Method Delaware Wine with In-Bottle Secondary Fermentation
"KAHOKU BLUE" is a sparkling wine crafted from Takamatsu-grown Delaware grapes, finished with in-bottle secondary fermentation and left unfiltered (nigori).
With an alcohol content of 8%, it is finished in a very easy-to-drink style.
The packaging design for the label and box was created by Gugi Akiyama, one of Japan's leading art directors who also serves as the team's creative director; sales are exclusively available at home game venues of "PFU BlueCats Ishikawa Kahoku" and through their official online store.
The price is 3,900 yen (including tax), and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to support recovery efforts for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
