Japanese wine too! In-train service renewed for "Gran Class" on the Tohoku/Hokkaido Shinkansen and Hokuriku Shinkansen!

Starting Saturday, October 1, 2022, the in-train service for "Gran Class (with beverages and light meals)" on the Tohoku/Hokkaido Shinkansen and Hokuriku Shinkansen will be renewed.

Japanese wine is also set to make an appearance.

Here are the details.

About the Renewal

The "Gran Class" on the Tohoku/Hokkaido Shinkansen and Hokuriku Shinkansen is undergoing this renewal.

In addition to initiatives such as serving a new "refreshment" where passengers can choose between Western and Japanese cuisine instead of the previous light meals, the service also aims at "reducing food loss" and "reducing plastic" toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A wealth of thoughtfully crafted new menus packed with the charms of the Tohoku, Hokkaido, and Hokuriku regions will be provided.

About the Refreshment (Light Meal)

In the aforementioned in-train service, the "refreshment" will feature the first-ever Gran Class Western cuisine produced by DEAN & DELUCA.

These and other dishes will be served.

(Manns Wine)

- "Gran Class Original White Wine: Asahimachi Wine Yamagata Muscat Bailey A" (Asahimachi Wine)

will be served.

Incidentally, the supervisor is Mr. Toshiyuki Suzuki, Chef Sommelier of The Tokyo Station Hotel.

Making Train Travel Even More Enjoyable

In addition, Japanese tea, apple juice, and specially selected snacks will also be introduced along with the renewal.

Why not take this renewal as an opportunity to enjoy a train journey?
