A Wine Cellar Is Born at Tokyo Station! JR East Group Launches "Anniversary Wine" Business for Storing Japanese Wine!

The JR East Group has launched the "Anniversary Wine" business for Japanese wine storage, allowing customers to store their own wine at Tokyo Station.

Wines can be stored in "THE CELLAR," a dedicated cellar inside The Tokyo Station Hotel.

Here are the details.

About the "Anniversary Wine" Business

The "Anniversary Wine" business is an initiative by the JR East Group aimed at regional revitalization through Japanese wine.

To allow people to experience one of the pleasures of wine—how its flavor changes over time—they developed the Anniversary Wine business where Japanese wine can be stored.

Incidentally, as the first phase of this project, the focus is on "aging."

"Souvenir," an exclusive Anniversary Wine product whose unique blending ratio was developed in collaboration with Manns Wines, will be put on sale.

About the Dedicated Cellar "THE CELLAR"

The place where wine will be aged this time is "THE CELLAR," a dedicated cellar newly established inside The Tokyo Station Hotel.

The interior features artwork reusing bricks that were once used in the Tokyo Station viaducts.

In addition, temperature and humidity inside the cellar are thoroughly managed, providing an optimal environment for wine aging alongside reinforced security, ensuring safe wine storage.

Incidentally, at present, the only wines that can be stored are those sold through Anniversary Wine.

Looking Forward to a Unique Initiative!

The "Anniversary Wine" business will commence on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 11:30 AM.

Wine purchases can only be made at "Restaurant Blanc Rouge" inside The Tokyo Station Hotel, and the purchased products will be available for use within The Tokyo Station Hotel after 3 months have elapsed from the date of purchase.

As mentioned above, the only wines that can currently be stored in "THE CELLAR" are those sold through Anniversary Wine.

Let's keep an eye out for future developments.
