The shared winery "Hokkaido SPACE Winery Inc." was launched by Naoyuki Maro, representative of JAPAN WineGrowers Inc.
While new entrants into winemaking continue to increase in Japan, the enormous financial burden of brewing equipment and facilities, as well as the lack of knowledge and experience related to winemaking, remain challenges for the Japanese wine industry.
Under these circumstances, the "shared" winery was established to achieve winemaking with sustainable potential for the next generation, regardless of entry scale or level of experience.
About the "Shared" Winery
Those who contract with the "shared" winery "Hokkaido SPACE Winery" share the brewing facilities, and each is allocated an exclusive room as an owner.
Additionally, if needed, they can receive support from JAPAN WineGrowers Inc., which has traditionally conducted winery support businesses.
Furthermore, having an exclusive space makes it possible to show stakeholders around as "their own winery," which was not possible with custom crush winemaking.
The contract is basically for 3 years, but 1-year contracts are also available.
As long as it is within the range that can be produced in their exclusive space, there is no upper limit on the number of bottles produced for each winery, and no additional equipment costs are incurred, enabling cost reductions based on their own brewing plans and ensuring stable wine production.
