If you are a fan of Japanese wine, you are surely paying attention to Japanese cheese as well.
Over the two days of October 28 (Sat) and 29 (Sun), the Nasu-born event "Cheese & Whey Festival" will be held for the first time at GOOD NEWS NEIGHBORS.
Not only can you fully enjoy cheese, but Coco Farm & Winery is also scheduled to open a booth.
Here are the details.
About the "Cheese & Whey Festival"
The "Cheese & Whey Festival" is an event organized by volunteer members including Cheese Koubou Nasu no Mori Co., Ltd., GOOD NEWS Co., Ltd., and the Nasu Natural Cheese Study Group.
In the Nasu area, cheese workshops, local shops, and businesses have partnered to utilize whey that would otherwise be discarded; over one year, 33,026 L of whey from four workshops was repurposed, and this initiative continues to expand.
Among the roughly 350 cheese workshops nationwide, many still do not utilize whey. This event is being held to communicate Nasu's whey initiatives by involving consumers and chefs.
Two Days to Thoroughly Enjoy Cheese!
At this event, visitors can compare cheeses from 10 cheese workshops nationwide, and 12 dining spots will offer dishes utilizing whey and cheese.
A precious two days where Nasu cheese workshops gather to offer cheese plates and allow visitors to compare cheeses from each workshop.
With Coco Farm & Winery also setting up a booth, you can also look forward to wine pairings.
Not only cheese workshops from the Nasu area but also popular cheese workshops from all over the country will participate, so whether you are a cheese enthusiast or not yet familiar with cheese, you are sure to find a cheese to your liking here.
