The “Goto Islands Festival in Fukuoka” will be held for three days, from Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 11, at HiRaKu, a cultural exchange and creative hub in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
The event will also offer a chance to enjoy wines from the Goto Islands.
Here are the details.
About the “Goto Islands Festival in Fukuoka”
The “Goto Islands Festival in Fukuoka” is designed to promote tourism to Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and showcase local products.
Now in its fourth edition, the festival will feature sales of regional goods along with a variety of activities.
Plans include the traditional Goto custom of mochi-maki, a hands-on event where visitors can catch freshly delivered kibinago fish free of charge, and the “Goto Bar,” serving snacks made with ingredients from Goto as well as the islands’ popular craft gin.
About the Goto Bar
Goto is also known for its wide range of excellent alcoholic drinks.
At the “Goto Bar,” visitors can enjoy beverages produced on the islands.
Alongside Goto’s well-known sweet-potato and barley shochu, the lineup is expected to include a popular craft gin that can require a wait of more than three months, as well as Sakura Awards-winning rosé and white wines from Goto Winery.
It is a great opportunity to enjoy Goto drinks together with a set of local snacks.
Be sure to check it out.
