About "The 2nd SAKANA & JAPAN FESTIVAL 2023 in Expo '70 Commemorative Park"
"The 2nd SAKANA & JAPAN FESTIVAL 2023 in Expo '70 Commemorative Park" is a sister event to the "Japan Fishermans Festival - National Fish Market & Fish Wholesalers Festival" held every November at Hibiya Park in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
The first festival was held at Expo '70 Commemorative Park in May of last year, achieving great success with around 50,000 visitors over three days.
For the second edition, the event has expanded to five days, and the number of booths has been scaled up from about 40 to around 60.
Japanese, Western, and Chinese seafood gourmet dishes will gather once again at Expo '70 Commemorative Park.
Wine, Too!
At this festival, visitors can enjoy seafood bowls featuring seasonal, fresh marine produce, local specialty dishes and fishermen's meals, as well as seafood ramen and seafood paella.
★ Exquisite dishes featuring Fukushima seafood such as flounder, conger eel, and Pacific saury, known as "Joban-mono"
★ A grand gathering of carefully selected seafood from across the country, including tuna, salmon, sea urchin, salmon roe, crab, and oysters
...and much more, offering plenty of attractive seafood delicacies to indulge in to your heart's content.
Among them, special attention should be paid to wine and cider.
Japanese wine and cider crafted by <Azumasanroku Winery>, a winery established at the foot of Mount Azuma overlooking Fukushima City, will also be served.
Seafood and Japanese wine make an outstanding pairing.
Be sure to enjoy pairing wine with seafood at the venue.
5 Days of Enjoying Seafood and Wine!
At "The 2nd SAKANA & JAPAN FESTIVAL 2023 in Expo '70 Commemorative Park," "Discovery! Fukushima Fish Festival" will also be held concurrently to support recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
