The "Aging Care Wine Research Institute" was jointly established by Mottox Inc. and Professor Shinichi Sugiura of Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts.
On August 19, 2024, the institute began accepting entries on its official website for an examination session targeting wine importers and Japanese wineries to certify wines as "Aging Care Wine"—wines with potential benefits in helping prevent the progression of glycation.
This is a very unique initiative.
Let us take a closer look at the details.
About "Aging Care Wine"
"Aging Care Wine" refers to wine defined by the "Aging Care Wine Research Institute" as having potential benefits in helping prevent the progression of glycation.
Evaluation criteria were established so that consumers can select wines focusing on their "anti-glycation effects," and certification of wines that meet the criteria as "Aging Care Wine" began on January 22, 2024.
Following the completion of the testing system at the institute, entry acceptance has now started for wines to be tested in the 2nd Certification Examination Session (2024 A/W).
It targets wine importers and wineries located in Japan.
Details of the Session
For the 2nd Certification Examination Session, testing fees for up to 24 items per 1 business operator will be accepted free of charge for this time only.
Furthermore, after the examination session concludes, along with test results regarding whether the submitted wines meet the certification criteria formulated by the institute, measured values of total polyphenol content expressed in gallic acid equivalents will be provided.
The brands certified as "Aging Care Wine" will be published on the institute's website on November 14, 2024 (Anti-Aging Day).
In addition, certified wines will be eligible to affix the "Certified Logo Sticker."
A very unique initiative.
