From Wednesday, October 2 to Monday (national holiday), October 14, "The 71st Grand Hokkaido Exhibition: Hokkaido Products and Tourism" will be held at the 8th floor event space of the Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. Main Building.
This time, it appears that a seminar on Hokkaido-produced wine will also be held.

About "The 71st Grand Hokkaido Exhibition: Hokkaido Products and Tourism"
"The 71st Grand Hokkaido Exhibition: Hokkaido Products and Tourism" is the most popular regional products fair at Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C.
This edition focuses on "potatoes," which are drawing attention as a sustainable food due to their diverse varieties and low environmental impact during cultivation, as well as "sweet potatoes," which have come to be grown even in cool Hokkaido due to climate warming. In addition to selling approximately 20 different varieties of potatoes, "potato" gourmet dishes and sweet treats made with "sweet potatoes" will be offered.
Naturally, about 75 shops featuring popular and buzzworthy bento boxes, side dishes, and sweets made with ingredients nurtured in Hokkaido will gather, and an extensive lineup of alcoholic beverages such as Hokkaido-produced wine is also reported to be available.
A Hokkaido-produced Wine Seminar Too!
A variety of special programs are scheduled to take place at the fair this time.
Programs such as "Learning Hokkaido Agriculture with Agri Kingdom" (video and panel exhibition), a talk show "Let's Learn Hokkaido Agriculture" featuring Hiroyuki Morisaki of TEAM NACS, and "Things Handed Down: Our Ainu Culture, Nibutani" will be held.
Among them, of particular interest is "The Current Status and Future Prospects of Hokkaido-produced Wine," which will take place on Sunday, October 6.
With guests Teruo Sone (Professor at Hokkaido University), Yumi Tanabe (Honorary Principal of Hokkaido Wine Academy), and Masahisa Abe (Otaru University of Commerce MBA, Senior Sommelier), the discussion will explore the future of Hokkaido-produced wine.
