Mottox Inc. has newly released Katsunuma Jojo's "Winemaker's Challenge Okubo Skin Extraction 2022."
This is a Koshu wine made using the over-extraction method, produced in a limited edition of just 300 bottles.
Here are the details.
About the "Winemaker's Challenge" Series
Katsunuma Jojo is widely known as a specialist in the Koshu variety.
Apart from their standard lineup, winemakers craft experimental small-batch cuvées daily to explore the further development of Japanese wine.
The "Winemaker's Challenge" series features carefully selected cuvées released in limited quantities by Mottox Inc.
The wine being released this time is the "Winemaker's Challenge Okubo Skin Extraction 2022."
This wine is made using the over-extraction method, in which Koshu grapes from the rare 0.17 ha "Okubo" plot are pressed further after initial juice extraction to draw out more components from the grape skins.
About the Wine
By employing the over-extraction method, "Winemaker's Challenge Okubo Skin Extraction 2022" has been crafted into a wine that delivers a deep color and tannic grip reminiscent of an orange wine.
Aged for 11 months in oak barrels, it is a bottle where you can enjoy complex aromas and lingering finish tannins.
A truly precious Koshu wine.
As it is limited to just 300 bottles, why not check it out?
