About Crrit Inc.
Crrit Inc. is a company established on December 19, 2023, in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
It was founded by two individuals: Takano, a student at the University of Yamanashi Graduate School's Institute of Enology and Viticulture (as of March 2024), and Tsuzura, a graduate of the Department of Chemistry at The University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Science.
It was established with the goal of contributing to sustainable wine production by utilizing unused materials that hold value but are discarded, such as grape tendrils (the curled parts of the vine).
The grape vines that coil around the grapevine are tendrils.
The company utilizes unused materials related to wine, starting with tendrils.
About Their Business
As one of its businesses, the company creates new food products from "tendrils"—materials that, despite being extremely appealing, are regarded as a nuisance and removed at wineries.
These foods will be sold through an e-commerce site as well as to restaurants and other venues, widely offering them as new food items to be enjoyed alongside wine.
In addition, while diversifying their business and listening to the needs of wineries, they are also developing initiatives such as transforming waste materials—like grape leaves, pruned branches, and grape pomace—into fashionable, stylish wine-related products.
Starting in the summer of 2024, the company will launch a crowdfunding campaign for food products made using tendrils that create a miraculous pairing with wine.
Teaming up with an award-winning chef from a gourmet competition, they plan to offer gourmet cuisine that delivers a new dining experience.
Through the crowdfunding campaign, they also reportedly plan to offer a full-course wine pairing featuring gourmet items smoked with wine grape branches, tendril black tea, and more.
Let us look forward to their future activities.
